Outposts

Closed mission, reopened

United States — Xiamen

The former United States consulate on Gulangyu island, Xiamen. A treaty-port post: its work was representing American commercial interests in and around Xiamen. The building still stands and is part of the Gulangyu UNESCO World Heritage site.

The map so far

Districts: 30 · Consuls elected: 0 · Elections running: 1

Early days — most of these were created recently and have a handful of people in them.

Listing a district is not a claim that anyone represents it. An Unofficial Consul is elected by community members and is not appointed by any government.
